Precision machining centers

Multi-axis centers for the most demanding operations
At Palumbo Industries, multi-axis machining centers play a key role in the production of high value-added components.
They are able to perform in a few sequences complex operations such as :
- milling
- drilling
- tapping
- contouring
- secondary operations
Thanks to their mechanical rigidity, thermal stability, and multi-axis capabilities, our machining centers ensure:
- a high machining precision
- une réduction des retouches manuelles
- impeccable surface finishes
- a high repeatability even for technical production runs

A patented mirror-polished milling process on aluminium
Palumbo Industries developed and patented a mirror-polished milling process on aluminium, for machining centers. This process is able to reach extremely high quality surfaces, with a reflectance rate over 80%, without any additional polishing operation.
This innovation ensures :
- an exceptional surface finish
- a perfect repeatability in mass production
- cost savings (no extra finishing)
- a mastered optical performance
Main application :
- Optical reflectors for LED modules of lighting systems
Key advantages of the machining centers
- Tailored to complex geometries or to combined operations
- High precision thanks to spindle rigidity, thermal stability and CNC drive
- Optimized cycle times thanks to continuous machining
- Thermal stability ensuring micrometric tolerances
- Ability to machine aluminum, steel and copper alloys
Typical applications
Machining centers enable the production of parts requiring high precision or secondary operations after extrusion or turning:
- Aluminium structural parts for automotive and aeronautics
- Optical reflectors optiques for automotive and aeronautics
- Urban mobility components
- Brackets, clamps and similar complex mechanical parts
- Applications requiring a fine and homogenous surface

A quality control tailored to complex parts
An automated optical inspection
Parts produced on machining centers are subject to enhanced inspections:
- periodic dimensional measurements on the production line
- optical inspection adapted to the geometry
- surface scanning for surface defects
- final automated inspection and CMM measurement
This process guarantees the part compliance, even for complex geometries and for secondary operations.
